Automation Controls Product Manager - Power & Circuit Protection

We are currently supporting a North American leader in industrial automation and e-commerce in their search for an Automation Controls Product Manager focused on power and circuit protection technologies.
The Product Manager will serve as the strategic owner of a multi-million-dollar product portfolio including motor controls, transformers, and circuit protection products. This role is responsible for driving product strategy, lifecycle management, supplier partnerships, and new product introduction (NPI) efforts.
Working cross-functionally with engineering, sales, operations, marketing, and suppliers, this individual will define and execute product roadmaps that support revenue growth, market competitiveness, and long-term portfolio health. This is a strong fit for a controls engineer transitioning into product management or an experienced product leader within industrial automation.
Develop and execute multi-year product roadmaps and category strategies
Analyze market trends, customer requirements, and competitive positioning to identify growth opportunities
Lead new product introduction (NPI) processes including supplier selection, pricing strategy, forecasting, and commercialization
Manage supplier relationships and negotiate agreements to optimize cost, quality, and delivery performance
Oversee product lifecycle management including obsolescence planning and end-of-life transitions
Support commercial strategy including product positioning, marketing enablement, and technical sales support
Partner cross-functionally with engineering, sales, operations, and marketing teams to drive execution
Provide technical product expertise and application support to internal stakeholders and customers
Monitor product portfolio performance and recommend adjustments to improve profitability and market share
Ensure compliance alignment with relevant industry standards and certifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field preferred (Mechanical or Electrical Engineering strongly preferred)
7–10+ years of experience in industrial controls and automation environments
Experience in Product Management, Controls Engineering, Applications Engineering, or Systems Integration
Strong technical knowledge of motor controls, transformers, and circuit protection products
Familiarity with UL, CSA, CE, or similar regulatory standards preferred
Experience with CAD tools such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks is a plus
Strong communication, organizational, and project management skills
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
