Job Description

The Production Supervisor provides critical frontline leadership for the Sheet Metal Forming and Machine Operations/Tube Fabrication departments. Reporting to the Focus Factory Manager, this role ensures effective supervision of associates, execution of daily production schedules, and strict adherence to safety, quality, and operational standards.
 
1st Shift: M-F 6:00am - 2:30pm (May require extended hours)

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and supervise team leads and hourly production employees in Sheet Metal Forming, Machine Operations, and Tube Fabrication.
  • Promote, enforce, and monitor adherence to safety protocols and company policies on the production floor.
  • Coordinate daily production activities to meet schedule, quality, and productivity targets.
  • Develop, implement, and audit standard work processes and ensure continuous improvement.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of production issues and lead corrective actions.
  • Monitor production performance, analyze productivity data, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Maintain inventory control of raw materials within the assigned department.
  • Collaborate with supply chain, quality, and shipping teams to support production flow and delivery timelines.
  • Address operational challenges that impact production schedules or customer expectations.
  • Support hiring efforts, including opening requisitions, interviewing candidates, and onboarding.
  • Track employee training, development, and skills through a skills matrix.
  • Maintain accurate timekeeping records for direct reports in ADP.
  • Foster a positive, accountable, and high-performance team environment.
 
Basic Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required; degree preferred for candidates interested in advancing to management.
  • 2–3 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing or production environment, preferably with prior experience as a machine operator.
  • Experience in CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, and machine operations (e.g., press brakes, sheet metal shears, punch metal turrets, T-drill machines, trans-fluid bending machines for copper and stainless steel).
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours or weekends when required.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to a newly forming team structure.
