Project Manager

TRC Talent Solutions is partnering with a power generation equipment organization seeking a Project Manager to support end-to-end execution of generator and electrical power systems projects. This role is highly customer-facing and sits at the intersection of sales, engineering, procurement, and project execution.

Summary

The Project Manager will oversee power generation projects from purchase order through final customer acceptance, ensuring accurate technical scope, cost control, scheduling, procurement coordination, and successful delivery of generator sets, ATS, paralleling switchgear, and related systems. This role requires strong customer engagement, technical understanding of power systems, and disciplined project financial and execution management.

Responsibilities

• Manage power generation projects from purchase order through final customer acceptance

• Review new projects for accuracy of BOMs, cost estimates, and terms & conditions

• Validate that technical quotes and estimates align with customer specifications and requirements

• Collaborate with sales and management to resolve scope, cost, and contract discrepancies

• Coordinate with customers to secure submittal approvals and manufacturing release

• Manage project schedules and ensure on-time execution across multiple concurrent projects

• Issue purchase orders and coordinate procurement of all required equipment

• Work with logistics teams to arrange shipping and delivery aligned with customer requirements

• Coordinate with quality control to ensure finished products meet specifications and standards

• Maintain proactive communication with customers throughout the project lifecycle

• Perform invoicing for all delivered goods and services

• Identify and resolve project risks before they impact schedule, cost, or customer satisfaction

• Support continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives within the power systems business

Requirements

• Minimum 5+ years of project management or engineering experience in electric power systems or related technical field

• Experience with diesel and gas generators, ATS, paralleling switchgear, or similar power generation systems

• Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems in industrial power applications

• Direct customer-facing experience (5+ years preferred)

• Strong organizational, scheduling, and time management skills

• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with competing priorities

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; AutoCAD and Adobe Acrobat experience preferred

• Ability to work independently while maintaining strong team collaboration

• Strong sense of urgency, accountability, and customer service orientation

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field preferred
